Combining childcare with working on a global stage

QWhy did you decide to join Fujikura Printed Circuits Ltd.?
AI wanted to provide Japan’s fantastic technology to the world, so I decided to join Fujikura Printed Circuits which has great technical ability and does business on a global scale.
QWhat do you do in your current job?
AI mainly deal with sales for international customers, mostly in the automotive and medical markets. I work with colleagues to respond to the requests of customers around the world, to garner business.
Q How is the atmosphere of your workplace?
AI have a good relationship with my boss and colleagues, and communication is easy.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s been possible to combine working from home and working at the office. I came back to work from childcare leave after the pandemic, so this has made it easy for me to manage work while parenting.
QWhat do you like about Fujikura Printed Circuits Ltd.?
A The fact that it’s a global company that can compete on a worldwide level.
There are not many business trips at the moment due to concerns about COVID-19, but if you are interested in other countries, there are opportunities to work around the world.
Aside from the work, it’s easy to take time off and you can work from home, so it allows me the flexibility to work while also parenting.
QWhat motivates you?
AWhen receiving gratitude for a completed project after having worked with a customer to overcome difficulties, knowing that my colleagues in Japan and overseas have worked hard during that process, I feel that is a valuable and meaningful experience.
QWhat challenges would you like to take on at work?
AWe get a lot of enquiries from new areas and start-up companies. New work is risky and challenging, but the business opportunities are very attractive. I would like to do more of this kind of work.
QHow do you spend your days off?
A I have bought a house, so I’m gradually doing it up to make it more comfortable to live in.
I also like making sweets with my children.
QWhat would you like to say to your future colleagues?
AManufacturing is an interesting and rewarding job. Let’s carve out new business opportunities connecting to the future and the world.

Manufacturing products in my local area of Akita for customers all over the world

QWhy did you decide to join Fujikura Printed Circuits Ltd.?
AAt first, I just wanted to find a job in my local areal of Akita. I decided to join this company because manufactures products for different industries around the world from Akita.
QWhat do you do in your current job?
A My job mainly involves designing prototypes and performing manufacturing follow-up to acquire new customers. It also involves establishing new manufacturing methods for high level for existing customers.
QHow is the atmosphere of your workplace?
AMost people are older than me, but there are lots of people who will teach me if there is something I don’t know. If I make a mistake, everyone helps me out. It’s easy to ask for time off, too.
QWhat do you like about Fujikura Printed Circuits Ltd.?
A Of course the work is rewarding. There are good welfare benefits too, like various systems and childcare leave. I have a wife and children, so this has been very helpful to me.
QWhat motivates you?
AWhen a drawing I have created is made into a real product that is supplied to the customer, I feel a sense of fulfilment when the product I have designed is what the customer wanted.
QWhat challenges would you like to take on at work?
ACurrently I am involved in design and manufacturing follow-up at the factory. I would like to try visiting customers to talk to them directly about ideas on products and manufacture these products.
QHow do you spend your days off?
AI have Saturdays and Sundays off, so I forget about work and unwind by going out with my kids.
QWhat would you like to say to your future colleagues?
AThe products may be inconspicuous, but we make products that are used all around the world. Come and work with us.

An environment where you can try all and grow as a person

QWhy did you decide to join Fujikura Printed Circuits Ltd.?
AI joined because of the international environment and the opportunity to support the foundation of an information-driven society.
QWhat do you do in your current job?
AMy main job is a manufacturing engineer for mass production of FPCs.I work with Thai engineers to solve any issues in manufacturing and come up with new mass production methods for new products.
QHow is the atmosphere of your workplace?
AWe all work together to mass produce products efficiently and with high quality, so this is an open workplace where all opinions are accepted, even from younger employees.
QWhat do you like about Fujikura Printed Circuits Ltd.?
A You can have many chance to try, no matter your age or your major area of study; so I think the environment is conducive to personal development. Senior employees take an active part in advising younger colleagues, and it helps my trial without hesitation.
QWhat motivates you?
A I feel fulfilled when we work as a team to solve problems that occur in the manufacturing process that I am responsible for.
QWhat challenges would you like to take on at work?
ABy gaining experience through everyday challenges, I would like to work as an engineer responsible for large-scale product manufacturing. Eventually, I would like to reach a position where I can oversee international manufacturing sites, to help them grow while staying rooted in the local area.
QHow do you spend your days off?
A I go to restaurants or hang out with friends.
QWhat would you like to say to your future colleagues?
A I like manufacturing, and I like making people happy with the things I make. FPCs are used in all kinds of electronic devices all around us. By being involved in making FPCs, I think you can support the lives of many people. Come and work with us!
